Services include, but are not limited to, energy audits, furnace efficiency tests, installation of energy saving materials, including windows and doors, and energy education. Also implements Usage Reduction Program for FirstEnergy/Penelec, Allegheny Power, National Fuel Gas, and PPL Gas. Assistance is also available with electric bills through the FirstEnergy/Penelec Pennsylvania Customer Assistance Program for those who experience trouble in paying and/or keeping current with their bills. Case Management Eligibility: Must be low income, below the 125% poverty level Fee for service: Yes Provides counseling and support to individuals and families, explores possibilities and problem solves to improve life situations. Connects individuals to appropriate service. Child Care Information Services Targeted age groups: Low income families Eligibility: Requirements vary, but to initially qualify family must be under 200% of the federal poverty guidelines Fee for service: Sliding scale based on income level and family composition A referral and information service linking families to childcare. Financial assistance may be available for income-eligible families in order to help pay for child care costs. Early Childhood Community Engagement Program An initiative to increase public awareness about the benefits of early education for our children, families and communities and the programs available to support the divers needs of families. Head Start Targeted age groups: 3-5 year olds Eligibility: Federally established poverty guidelines Fee for service: No Head Start is a comprehensive federal preschool program providing education, health and nutrition services to enrolled children and their families. Housing Program Targeted age groups: Any Fee for service: No A program offering rental assistance, foreclosure mitigation counseling, pre-purchase/pre-closing counseling, default and delinquency counseling, lending counseling, and homeowner’s emergency mortgage assistance. |
