Promotes consumer education and publicizes matters related to consumer fraud, deception and misrepresentation. Mediates consumer to business complaints and disputes to try to obtain resolutions. The Bureau is only authorized to file formal legal action against a business when it can be demonstrated through a pattern of complaints that it is in the public interest to do so.
