Adult Basic Education (GED Support)

Adult students can brush up on skills in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science in preparation for the GED test or as they seek to enter or advance in employment. Classes are offered during evening hours in Bradford, Johnsonburg/St. Marys, Kane and Port Allegany. Distance learning also is available.

Family Literacy Program

Eligibility: Open to parents/caregivers of children birth to grade 3.
Targeted age group(s): Parents

The goal of Family Literacy is to educate parents/caregivers of young children, engage families in learning, strengthen ties to schools, improve parenting skills and encourage reading as an enjoyable habit. Adult students can brush up on skills in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science in preparation for the GED test or as they seek to enter or advance in employment. Classes are held during the day at the CareerLinks in Bradford, Coudersport, Emporium and St. Marys. Distance learning also is available.

Eligibility: Eligible children birth to entrance to school age with a diagnosed disability or developmental delay.
Fee for service: No

Services to children age birth to three years may include: developmental screenings, special instruction, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and other services as needed. Services are provided in the child’s natural environment such as home or day care setting. Services to children three years to school age are provided in the child’s least restrictive environment (LRE) and may include: specialized instruction, hearing support, vision support, speech/language support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and transportation. Services are determined by the child’s (IEP) team.
